Starting from the Beefeater at Morton Park, this ride takes us into the south east of the region and a trip over the North Yorkshire Moors! We ride out via Middleton St George, down into Neasham and through Low Dinsdale and Girsby. We follow the cycle network through Hornby and Appleton Wiske, continuing south through West Rounton and East Harlsey. At Ellerbeck, we’ll head east and take on the climb up into Osmotherley. We’ll ride north over the moors, past Cod Beck reservoir, before heading down into Swainby and calling in at our stopping point at The Rusty Bike café. The return route then brings us back via Potto, Crathorne, Kirklevington and Yarm, before we pickup the Aislaby route, heading west and home via Middleton One Row and back to the Beefeater. This is an amazing ride with a fabulous route through the stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors, plus includes a stop at the amazing cycling-themed Rusty Bike café.

This ride is classed as a CHALLENGING ride which is 43 miles in total. The ride is undulating, with a few hill climbs – some quite substantial. The ride is all on the road or cycleways – all bike types suitable for this ride, but road/hybrid bikes recommended for this distance. It is suitable for riders who are comfortable sustaining around 12mph avg. and can continually cycle for around 3 hours each way. The stopover on this ride will be at least 1 hour. Bear in mind these times are a guide and the ride can take longer.

PLEASE NOTE This ride is NOT suitable for children, unless they are experienced cyclists. A bug on the Let’s Ride website currently shows that all rides are suitable for children of all ages, this is not correct.

A wonderful ride over the North Yorkshire Moors, with the area's best cafe stop!

All on the roads or cycleways

The Rusty Bike - probably the best cycling cafe stop in the area

Helmets essential, locks/payment method advised for stopping points
