From the A66 at the Darlington Arena Mowden Park stadium, take the local road towards Hurworth village and travel along Roundhill Road until you reach the Spar convenience store. There is a small car park here, plus also parking along the roadside on The Green. There are no parking restrictions here, but please be respectful of the village environment.

Starting from the Spar in Hurworth village, we ride out via Hurworth Place and through Croft, then turning south and on through Dalton Gates and Atley Hill, via Pepper Arden, Streetlam, Great Langton, Kirkby Fleetham and the Fencotes before passing Leeming Bar and riding into Aiskew, where we’ll have our café stop at the Tandem bike café. We’ll continue into Bedale before turning north for the return ride which brings us back via the Crakehalls, Hackforth, East Appleton, passing through Catterick, then on through Scorton and turning at Moulton before joining up with our outgoing route at Dalton Gates and returning to Hurworth.

This ride is classed as a CHALLENGING ride which is a little over 40 miles in total. The ride is undulating with some hill climbs. The ride is all on the road or cycleways. All bike types suitable for this ride, hybrid or road bikes recommended for this distance. It is suitable for riders who are comfortable sustaining around 12mph avg. and can continually cycle for around 3 hours each way. The stopover on this ride will be up to an hour. Bear in mind these times are a guide and the ride can take longer.
