DA6 8HL

The Boathouse Café Danson Park Bexleyheath

This ride is aimed at ladies who are confident riding their bikes on the road & want a challenging ride or are training for a sportive/sponsored ride. We will be riding on mainly 'A' roads but they are usually quiet on a Sunday morning, some have cycle lanes. A steady climb from Danson Park past Orpington on to Polhill, a lovely downhill then around the Starhill Rd/Suridge Rd roundabout. After climbing the hill which seems much longer than when we went down, its a steady downhill/flat road back to Danson Park. There are cafes on route but I hope to do the ride in one go having refreshments back at Danson Park. This is a popular stretch of road with cyclists when we often out number the cars. This ride is for ladies who are fairly fit & want to push themselves. Please bring a spare inner tube, water, snack & money for refreshment after the ride. Wear suitable clothes for the weather condintions. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. Coming far?  The nearest train station is Bexleyheath which is approximately 7 minutes ride away.  For more information please see the National Rail Enquires website. Need a bike? Please see Kent County Council website for a full list of bike hire available Look forward to seeing you there!
