Starting in the car park at Hampton Pier, Herne Bay, we will make our way to Preston in small riding groups via Herne, Broomfield, Chislet, Grove Ferry and into Preston. A route that we have all done many times.

After our refreshment stop, our return to Herne Bay will be via Stourmouth, Plucks Gutter, St Nicholas at Wade joining part of the Viking Trail and entering Herne Bay via Broomfield, or your ride leader may decide to the Reculver route into Herne Bay.

This is a ride that we have done many times before, but each time it is unique because of the marvellous women who join them, and make each ride an enjoyable one. We hope that you will join us on this ride too, making more memories for everyone.

Angela and Janet have been Breeze Champions since 2015 and since that time have met many women and made many new friends, and hope that lots of women have been inspired to cycle.

We will be riding on town and country roads, so expect some traffic. On the return journey part of the ride will be on traffic free stretches of shared pathway - shared between cyclists and pedestrians.

The planned refreshment stop is the cafe at Preston Garden Centre.

All that you need for this ride is a helmet and roadworthy bike. Both of these are compulsory items. By roadworthy, we mean the brakes work, tyres are in good order, the bike fits you (not too big and not too small), the frame is not cracked or broken, the saddle is of the right height. It is also necessary to dress for the weather, layering is best. We would hope that in July the weather is glorious, but we all know the English weather is not predictable - or if you like, is predictably wet and cold! Carry a small bag if you think you are going have to remove/put on clothing. It's preferable not to tie garments around the waist because they can come loose and get caught up in the bike (unless you are confident the gardens are fastened tightly to your body). You will also need to carry essential medication if you rely upon it (such as asthma pump; epi-pens); a spare inner tube and tools to change said inner tube. And finally you will need cash/card for refreshments.

We especially welcome newbies!
