Return to Pooley Bridge

This  15 mile ride is a mixture of both off road and on road but it is only suitable for mountain bikes due to the nature of the off road sections.  We will start by climbing on a good track to Askham Fell.  On the descent we will get some stunning views of Pennines and the surrounding Lakeland fells.  We will follow the wide bridleway across the fell before descending to Helton and then ride onto Askham.  We will then climb back up to Heughscar Hill on a different bridleway before descending to Howtown.; On the descent we will get an amazing view of Ullswater. This is the ride for you if you would like to give natural mountain biking a go.  The bridleways are always wide and are not technical but are fun to ride.  Ride in a women only group on natural trails with amazing views.  We will be riding at the pace of the slowest rider so we don't leave anyone behind. Mountain bikes are essential for this ride and so is a helmet.  You will also need to come dressed for the weather, have a waterproof with you, a drink and a snack are also a good idea.  It would also be good to carry a spare inner tube, just in case you need it.  As the route can be wet and muddy, a spare change of clothing for after the ride is also advisable. Mountain biking is great fun and a good way to get fit so come along and give it a go.
