Fairholmes Visitor Centre Upper Derwent Valley, Hope Valley, Derbyshire S33 0HQ

A leisurely ride around the Ladybower, Derwent and Howden resevoirs. We will meet at Fairhomes Visitor Centre and Cycle Hire. From Fairholmes we will follow the narrow road between the pines and along the winding western shore of Ladybower, Derwent and Howden reservoirs. On weekends till the end of September (and Sundays all year) the road is closed to private cars so the smooth tarmac will be traffic free except the Bakewell & Eyam Community Transport minibus plying its friendly hail and ride service to King’s Tree at the head of the valley. At King's Tree we will continue onto the eastern shore of the reservoir where the terrain gets a little more bumpy so mountain bikes or hybrid bikes and tyre's are more suitable. We will complete the full loop of Howden and Derwent reservoirs and end the ride back at Fairholmes visitor centre where we can take in refreshments and cake :) Bring along your helmet, a spare inner tube and a waterproof layer just in case the weather turns :)
