Fairholmes Visitor Centre Upper Derwent Valley, Hope Valley, Derbyshire S33 0HQ

A leisurely ride around the Ladybower, Derwent and Howden resevoirs. We will meet at Fairhomes Visitor Centre and Cycle Hire. From Fairholmes we will follow the narrow road between the pines and along the winding western shore of Ladybower, Derwent and Howden reservoirs. On weekends till the end of September (and Sundays all year) the road is closed to private cars so the smooth tarmac will be traffic free except the Bakewell & Eyam Community Transport minibus plying its friendly hail and ride service to King’s Tree at the head of the valley. We will turn at King's Tree and return back to Fairholmes to complete our ride. During the course of the series we can work towards increasing the distance of the rides should participants be interested. Be warned there are a couple of short but steep hills to conquer which took me three attempts to get up in one go :) Bring along your helmet, a spare inner tube and a waterproof layer just incase the weather turns :) Meet me at the front of the Cycle Hire shop on the right as you enter the car park :)
