Heaton Park

Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or children riding? Come along for a gentle ride on a mostly well-surfaced, completely traffic free route.  It’s perfect for beginners, children and anyone who’s not been on a bike for a while. Breeze rides are about socialising and having fun on two wheels, and newcomers are always welcome. We’ll always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. Explore the traffic-free paths of north Manchester's expansive Heaton Park. You can enjoy the beautiful parkland, with its formal gardens, wildlife and architecture, with plenty of refreshment stops available at the park's many cafes. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack or money to buy one.  Dress appropriately for the weather: it may be July but it's useful to have several thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too!  If you haven't been out on your bike in a while and aren't confident with bike maintenance it's a good idea to have it checked over at a local bike shop at least a couple of days beforehand. We will do a basic safety check at the start of the ride but we don't want you to risk going home disappointed because you couldn't take part. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not worry, you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. Please note all children under the age of 16 MUST wear a helmet. From 1 June – 30 September 2013, each participant who invites a friend to a ride (once that friend attends) will receive the following: 1 friend = a Breeze water bottle 2 friends = a Breeze Buff (please feel free to ask your ride leader to model hers!) 3 friends = £15 Love2Shop vouchers If you have any questions or suggestions for future rides please email us at [email protected] or post us a message on Facebook Look forward to seeing you there!
