Thank you for joining us at one of our fantastic British Heart Foundation (BHF) Bike Rides. We're thrilled that you've joined the team raising vital funds to help us in the fight against heart disease. If you want to get the most out of your big day, the hard work needs to start way before you cross the start line. That's why we're thrilled to have teamed up with British Cycling to offer you this training ride. This brilliant Dick Turpin themed 41 mile route is great for anyone looking for a little bit extra in their ride! What better way to learn about the 'poacher, burglar, horse thief, highwayman and killer' that was Dick Turpin than by bike! Starting at Redbridge Cycling Centre, the route takes you past many noteable posints of Turpin's life. From the forests where along with the Essex Gang, they would poach royal deer and oxen; the farmhouses and estates where he would burgle and rustle horses; through to Epping Forest, where he achieved infamy as a highwayman. Bringing this route back to the modern day, you will also cover sections of the 2014 Tour de France route. With so much to see along the way as well as getting 40 miles of cycling in your legs this route is certainly not to be missed!
