Thanet

You will start this traffic free route at the Viking café and within 120 yards there is a replica of the Viking longship Hugin on permanent display on the cliff top at Pegwell Bay, which sailed from Denmark to Thanet in 1949 to celebrate the 1500th anniversary of the invasion of Britain, the traditional landing of the two men, and the betrothal of Hengist's daughter, Rowena, to King Vortigen of Kent. With a small descent down from the Viking ship and your into Pegwell Bay country park and along the cycle path you will hopefully see Yaks in a field . A fairly straight route and would be one for someone wanting to get out on the bike and meet people.
