A gentle meander through the rural lanes of West Lancashire from Rainford to The Farm at Burscough and return via Bickerstaffe. The forecast for the weekend is really good so why not get out on your bike and enjoy the lovely countryside in this area?
Mostly on quiet, hard surfaced roads. Some will be on narrow lanes and perhaps a bit busier on the run out to Burscough. Suitable for most bike types.
We will be stopping at The Farm at Martin Lane Burscough for light refreshment and to sample their lovely ice cream!
All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). Don't forget to bring money for your refreshments and ice cream!
It is essential that everybody enjoys the ride which will be at an average pace of 9-11 mph but the average speed will be determined by the overall pace of the group. Please ensure that you can cope with a 25-30 mile bike ride at this pace. Always remember though, we will never leave anyone behind!
