Starting point

Perthshire
KY13 8GE

Much of this route is very flat and there are two sections that have some shallow gradients and gentle inclines. Nobody will be left behind and there is no pressure for anybody to try to cycle quickly. Where there is a ramp upwards, we will take our time and regroup at an appropriate location as riders will tackle road sections with gradients at different paces. Nobody will be left behind! This week is entirely tarmac except for a short section on the railway path which is approximately 100 m of gravel. Please do feel free to dismount and walk this. Short section if you wish. I have written it many times and my road bike very well. The plan is for this ride to remain entirely on the roads however, if everyone is on a suitable bike to ride on the Heritage Trail, then we can do the last few miles off road on the gravel path. We can decide on the night. Once we see the choice of bikes everyone is riding.

A circular route along quiet roads and the traffic free cycle path to Arlary

Road, hybrid and gravel bikes do best on tarmac surfaces. Mountain bikes will manage but are usually harder work on sealed surfaces. E-bikes welcome. Much of the road is on quiet back roads. We have an option to do the last four miles on road or on the gravel heritage trail path depending on whether or not riders have suitable off road bikes. The plan is to cycle on the road. We can see on the day what is best.

We will stop is needed for riders to have their own drinks and snacks. No cafe stops are planned as this is an evening ride.

All riders are advised to wear helmets, and suitable eye protection. You should bring a drink and any snacks that you need for yourself, a waterproof, or showerproof jacket, an inner tube to fit your bike’s wheel, and any tools specific to your bike.

We never leave anyone behind
