This is a low mileage easy going circular ride through Weymouth and environs which hopefully will incorporate seeing Radio 1's Greg James 'Grand Depart' from Weymouth for Comic Relief. We understand that Greg is due to commence his 1000 mile tandem trip from Weymouth Pavilion to Edinburgh sometime between 8-9am, so we hope (and also depending on access) our ride will be able to capture that moment too. So please be aware our ride start time may vary until we have confirmation. We will ride direct to the Pavilion (approx 3 miles) and then continue on a circular route out to the quieter paths and lanes west of the town.

There is a planned stop at the end of this short ride, unless we are able to meet up with Breezers from Dorchester where we may decide to have a café stop with them. Plus, we always stop on route as required to re-group, have a drink, put on more layers, etc!

In preparation, please always ensure your bike is fit & safe to ride before participating, tyres are correctly inflated, gears and breaks working effectively. Remember to wear clothes that are comfortable to cycle in and suitable for the weather conditions. Please bring a spare inner tube, a waterproof jacket, a snack and a bottle of water/juice. If there is a planned café stop, you will need a lock for your bike and if you wish to buy refreshments, please bring some means of payment. We always recommend that you wear a cycle helmet and lights are often necessary when winter riding
