Preston Guild Wheel

Around the Preston Guild Wheel (some of you may now be able to do this with your eyes shut, although I wouldn't recommend it!). Starting at Frenchwood Recreation area and doing a clock-wise loop of Preston. For those who haven't done this yet it's a good way to see some parts of Preston you may not have seen yet (especially Fishwick Bottoms, which is approaching the end of the ride). It's about 21.5 miles and can be done comfortably in 2 hours, more like 3 with two 10 minute drink stops and a 30 minute food stop. I'm actually going to do this twice on the day - one at 8am solid all the way round (for those who wish to go round a little quicker or rather, swifter without the stops, and then again at 10:30am. So - it'll say 8am but will also have a 10:30 start, so that's two wheels! I'll be there from 7:30am on the Sunday and will leave at 8am sharp. Returning about 9:45am, I'll then wait to start the second run, which will be at a more leisurely pace to suit the group and anyone who wishes to join either is welcome! There is ample car parking at the Rec, which is in Frenchwood. If you're heading out of Preston down the A6, turn right at "The Bridge" pub, just before you cross the Ribble past the speed camera on the dual carriageway. The river will now be on your left, and follow this road all the way around to the end. There will be a school on your right and the car park is at the end on the left, where the Wheel starts.
