From Burrs Country Park we will pick up NCR6 along the River Irwell, we will pass under the busy Bury Bridge junction and continue to the cycle path running parallel to Bolton Rd. we will cycle past Elton Sailing Club, over the Bury & Bolton Canal and pick up the cycle path running alongside the canal. We briefly leave the canal at Radcliffe but use quieter roads to rejoin it, remaining on the canal path until we reach the locks at Prestolee, this area is known as Nob End. (This is to do with the long gone coal mining industry which was prolific in the area many years ago.

Mainly off road along cycle paths and trails, there will be some quieter roads which we will have to use in order to pick up the cycle paths and trails.

Quieter roads, some with specially appointed crossing points for cyclists.

We will stop regularly for catch-up, photo opportunities or simply to admire the view.

Helmets are a must! Please also bring a spare inner tube specific to your bike, your bike should also be in good working order. Bright and weather suitable clothing should also be worn. There may not be any cafe stops so please ensure you bring a drink and snack with you.

We never leave anyone behind
