Beat the Post-Christmas excesses with a leisurely ride through the picturesque Sankey Valley and alongside St Helens Canal. A British Cycling guided ride with lovely scenery and wildlife throughout; on mostly flat trail surfaces, some tarmac, but essentially traffic-free. Lots of examples of industrial architecture and heritage as we bypass Dallam Locks, Earlestown's 'Nine Arches Viaduct' before the gradual climb to expanse of Carr Mill Dam Lake and the views of distant hills of Billinge.

Mostly off-road on designated walking/cycling paths withing Sankey Park

Stops along the way for photographs and a mid-point tea/coffee stop at Carr Mill Dam.

Please note the weather on the day and bring suitable clothing, particularly gloves and wet-weather clothing. Helmets are mandatory if U-18 years old. Spare inner-tubes, tyre sealant or puncture outfit and Basic toolkit. Mobile phone and money/card for the cafe

First-timers welcome!
