Portsmouth - Hilsea Lido to Fareham - 14 miler

If you're fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. This is a steady ride of between 14-15 miles leaving Hilsea Lido and heading east. We'll take in a lap of Port Solent before exploring Porchester Castle, Wicor Recreation Ground and onto Fareham. We'll complete a circuit of Bath Lane Recreation Ground before heading back via the quieter streets of Porchester where we'll rejoin the National Cycle Network 236 back to Hilsea Lido. Along the way we will pass great local landmarks such as Porchester Castle and Cams Hall, as well as enjoying spectacular views over Portsmouth Harbour and Forts lining Portsdown Hill from various vantage points. This is mostly a flat ride that takes in cycle paths, quiet roads, and short off-road sections, giving riders a taste of some of the more relaxed cycling in the area. Furthermore, at between 14-15 miles it is a good challenge for those wanting to stretch their legs that bit further.
