Portsmouth - Gosport Loop Pootle - 12 miler

Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Our Easygoing rides are great for building confidence for all abilities and ages along relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. They're up to six miles long, with a gentle pace of around six miles an hour. This gentle flat route takes in the beautiful harbour waterfront areas of Portsmouth and Gosport. Starting in Old Portsmouth, we'll travel by ferry to Gosport (adult and child tickets will be required however bikes can go free) and follow much of the excellent cycle path infrastructure around the outskirts of the town passing the Explosion, Museum, Gosport Leisure Centre and then onto the old rail branch line to Stokes Bay for refreshments. The route returns to the Ferry along the stunning waterfronts of inland lakes and channels and passes parks, the location of both the former Gosport Velodrome, Gosport Lido. After the ferry crossing the route returns to Old Portsmouth using the outward route. For the Gosport Ferry, participants will be required to purchase adult and/or child tickets however bikes can go free. The Portsmouth side ticket machine only accepts cash - no card payments available.
