PO1 2ND

Portsmouth

Starting from Nelson’s statue in Old Portsmouth, the route heads to Gosport via the ferry. On arrival head towards Alverstoke and then onto Stokes Bay exploring the edge of the Solent.  There are some great views of the Isle of Wight as you’ll pass the Diving Museum before looping around Lee on the Solent. The Sail Maker Public House makes for a great stopping point before taking the cycle way which links Gosport and Fareham. Head towards the water and take in the incredible views of Portsdown Hill and Portsmouth Harbour. The route passes ‘Explosion!’, the Royal Naval museum of firepower before crossing the Millennium Bridge and Royal Clarence Marina before heading back to the ferry for the return trip back to Portsmouth and onto Grand Parade.  Charges apply for the ferry crossing but bikes can go free. The Portsmouth side ticket machine only accepts cash - no card payments available.
