Penyrheol - Pontlliw Loop

We'll meet at 10am in Penyrheol Leisure Centre car park, Gorseinon. After a quick warm-up and bike check we'll be ready to ride off by 10.15 on this 7.5 mile loop on cycle path and quiet country roads. The first two miles of the ride follow the cycle path towards Grovesend to gain confidence for riding in a group and it’s a chance to get to know each other; the route then joins a main road ((B4296) briefly before turning onto a quiet country road heading to Pontlliw before returning on the main road up past The Glamorgan Arms on the A48 and Pontarddulais Garden Centre and back to base in under an hour. This ride is ideal for those with some experience of riding on the road and those who want to regain their confidence riding with others in a small group. There is a short but steady climb mid way which is absolutely do-able for riders with some experience and reasonable fitness (we'll wait for everyone to complete it though, don't worry!) If the weather forecast looks "challenging" we'll post an update on Facebook and Twitter by 8.30 latest that morning. If your plans change and you can't make it, please just let us know with a Facebook message. Just wear comfortable clothing and don't forget to bring a drink.
