If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. Come and join us on this most beautiful and charming ride through the amazing Lowther Castle grounds and neighbouring village of Askham, described by Alfred Wainwright as "Westmorland's the most attractive village". Cycle into another world along the traffic free driveway into the grandeur of the estate grounds, before visiting Lowther Castle no to mention passing Brougham Castle and Hall along the way. This 11 mile route is a gentle ride for those wanting to saviour the best the Eden Valley has to offer!  A ride certainly not to missed. Bike Hire is available from Lake District Cycling - 07917 608566. Please book in advance and state that the hire is for Penrith Sky Ride for delivery to the start of the ride.
