Pedal Power to Sully Island

This is a scenic ​evening ride from Pedal Power and through Penarth to Sully Island via Cosmeston Lakes​ Country Park​.

We'll cycle to Penarth Marina, and ​head up the 'zig zags', getting off to walk is fine too! Then we'll stop for a photo at Penarth viewpoint before taking quiet roads through Penarth​ and joining the old railway line on to Cosmeston Lakes. We'll continue from there to ride on quiet country lanes down to the coast at Sully Island, then return via a few short hills and more lanes to Cogan, ​d​ropping back to Penarth Marina and ​finishing along the Taff trail to the start.

Scenic evening ride

The route includes a short section of busy road traffic, along with a mix of traffic‑free shared paths, quiet roads and narrow country lanes. There are several short hills, so it’s suited to riders who are confident with gear use and comfortable cycling in narrow lane conditions.

There will be an opportunity ​f​or refreshment, toilet at the Captain's Wife in Sully.

Please​ wear a helmet and bring a spare inner tube, drink and snack. Bring money/card if you’d like to buy refreshments.
