Starting point

Fife
KY7 5GD

This is a gentle circular ride around the north of Glenrothes starting at Riverside Park. We'll begin with a short circuit through the park following the river before heading out towards Gilvenbank Park via Pitcoudie. We'll cross the bridge over Western Avenue which takes us onto the quiet residential streets of Coul. There's a steady climb at this point of the route but we'll take it slowly before reaching Coul Den and stopping for a quick breather and to admire the stunning views. We'll continue along the gravel tracks of Formonthills Community Woodland before re-joining Formonthills Road and enjoying a leisurely descent on the roads through Balgeddie and Whinnyknowe. A short path will return us to our starting point in Riverside Park.

This is a gentle ride around the north of Glenrothes starting at Riverside Park and taking in Gilvenbank Park and the beautiful Formonthills Community Woodland area.

The majority of the route is on well maintained cycle paths. Part of the route through Riverside Park and Formonthills Woodland are on gravel tracks and there are two short road sections.

We'll make a quick stop at Coul Den to admire the views towards the Lomond Hills and hopefully spot the swans and their little cygnets.

Helmets are advisable but not compulsory for this ride. All bike types welcome.

This will be a gentle and sociable ride taken at a relaxed pace. We welcome women of any age and ability, no-one will be left behind.
