This ride follows a mostly flat route along some unmade roads to Tandle Hill Park. We'll meet in the car park at Chadderton Hall Park for a quick bike check before heading out. We'll take a break in Tandle Hill Park, where refreshments and toilet facilities are available, before heading back the way we came. After the ride there is a chance to stop at the award winning and friendly Pavilion Café, which serves a wide range of drinks, snacks and meals, so please bring some money with you and a bike lock if you have one. The park has a children’s play area and you can also enjoy the woodland/river walk, water feature and extensive ornamental gardens. Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome. We’ll always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.

This is a gentle ride where we should encounter very little traffic.  It’s perfect for beginners, children and anyone who’s not been on a bike for a while. Please note that the unmade road surfaces are not suitable for narrow road bike tyres. Children's bikes with stabilizers will probably struggle on the rougher ground. Hybrids, mountain bikes, and any bike with reasonably wide tyres offering some grip will be fine. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack.  Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too!  Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. Please note all children under the age of 16 MUST wear a helmet. If you have any questions please email us at [email protected] or post us a message on the Breeze Network Greater Manchester Facebook page. Look forward to seeing you there! Don’t forget…. Breeze are on a mission to spread the word about their rides, and need your help. If you introduce one friend who goes on to take part in a Breeze ride, you’ll receive a Breeze water bottle, introduce a second friend, you’ll be the proud owner of one of their swish Breeze Buffs, and introduce a third friend and Breeze will send you £15 of Love2Shop vouchers.
