Some nice flat, quiet lanes to get us warmed up, then a challenging climb to the top of the common. Fantastic, panoramic views as a reward at the top, then a steep, fast flowing downhill all the way to Builth. Returning via the generally flatter but still undulating back road to Boughrood.

An intermediate cycle ride for those who are comfortable climbing and descending steep hills. This ride is suitable for riders who have a reasonable level of bike fitness. There is a very steep, long hill to climb and afterwards a beautiful, sweeping downhill section. We cycle up to the top of an exposed common, so be prepared for the temperature to drop a notch. It will be led at a steady, social pace, with no one being left behind. All intermediate cyclists are welcome.

Mainly quiet country lanes, with some busier roads where unavoidable.

Plenty of opportunity to stop on-route to catch your breath, have a drink and enjoy the views. If we’re back in time, we plan to visit The Seven Stars, Aberedw for some after ride refreshment. The Seven Stars Inn has been a feature of the village of Aberedw for centuries. After closing briefly in 2018, it was purchased by a community fundraising drive and is now back to serving the needs of locals and visitors alike. Aberedw is steeped in history, with Llewellyn’s Cave, the remains of two medieval castles and is also home an 11th century church dedicated to St. Cewydd, the Welsh St. Swithin. https://www.sevenstarsaberedw.co.uk

Please bring a well-maintained bicycle, wear a helmet, gloves and appropriate clothing for the weather. Please ensure you have a good set of lights for both the front and rear of your bike. Remember to carry a drink, a snack, a spare tube, puncture repair kit, lock and pump. Some money for the pub.

We’re friendly, we love cycling, laughing and we never leave anyone behind.
