This is a lovely route, heading out along the Lee Valley Trail, up to Peter’s Green and over the hill to Whitwell via Bendish, returning via The Holt and the fabulously named Barleybeans Lane to Bower’s Heath and home. I have categorised this as challenging because although shortish, it is a hilly ride, but we will not be rushing and will regroup at the top, even if you wish to walk up the hills, so don’t let it put you off!

This is a very pretty route that is well worth the hills.

We will be riding mainly on country lanes, with a short section of trail and busier roads.

We will stop half way at Emily’s in Whitwell for refreshments

The weather seems forecast to remain hot, so plenty of fluids and sunscreen are essential. it is worth having a spare inner tube suitable for your tyres, and of course a helmet.

First-timers welcome!
