Over the Hill to the Weekend

Hello! This ride is suitable for ladies who are confident on road and wanting to improve on their skills for climbing hills and descending. The ability to cycle as part of a group, in pairs, is not essential, but appreciated. We can advise on the skills for doing this. We will wait at top of climbs and bottom of descents to re- group and take in any drinks/ snacks needed. The route will go from the Park and Ride at Malin Bridge, and out along Loxley towards Bradfield, where we will climb all the way up past Dam Flask and up to the Old Horns inn, before descending down in to Low Bradfield. The ride is approximately an 8 miles. As its a short evening ride, there won't be a cafe stop. A fully working bike, with excellent working brakes is essential for this ride, and helmets are compulsory (usually I don't say this, but don't want to take any chances) Due to the timing of this ride, working lights are essential on the front and rear of your bike, as it may start to go dark on the way back. Please bring a snack, a drink, a puncture repair kit and wear clothes suited to riding in early evening conditions. Reflective / hi-vis are advised. The Park and Ride costs £1 to park and is payable at the machines in the facility. Barriers are in operation.
