Starting point

Powys Radnorshire
HR3 5DY

A lung busting climb takes you up and up from Hay on Wye, finally reaching the spectacular Gospel Pass. Well it is the highest road pass in Wales! Then there's the long, steep and gravelly decent to the mystic Llanthony Abbey. Afterwards the route is more gently undulating, on mainly quiet country lanes. There are plenty of places to find refreshment en-route but take a little picnic and we'll try and stop somewhere with a lovely view to rest our weary limbs and refuel. This ride is suited to cyclists with some experience of longer routes. Please wear a helmet, clothing suitable for the weather on the day (it can get very cold up on the pass) and bring all the usual cycling bits and bobs (drink, spare tube, pump, lock, some money for refreshments etc.).
