Starting from the Burnside Hotel this challenging ride climbs through Castlemilk to Newton Mearns, and then along beautiful country roads to Neilston. We then head up and over Gabroc Hill - past the Harelaw Reservoir and fishery and with views of Arran on a clear day - before descending into Stewarton where we will stop at the wonderful Gilmartin's Cafe (https://www.gilmartinsbakery.com/) - check the ride picture for an exampel of their cakes!! Coffee is good too.

We will head home via the A77 cycle lane, before climbing over the Moor Road and dropping into Eaglesham - then back to our start point via Thorntonhall and Carmunnock. All in all a grand day out!

Whether you’re in training for a cycling challenge or just want to take your riding up a notch, our Challenging rides are a great place to start. Distance: 20+ miles. Speed: 12-14 mph.
