Over Farthing Down to Surrey and Kent

Surrey and Kent via Farthing Down Saturday, Feb 21, 2015 Norwood Junction London Overground Station, Station Road, London SE25 5AH meet here 9.10 for 9.26 train. Ride starts at Coulsdon South at about 9.50am Hard Ride. 45 miles. Nearly 3000 ft climbing. But worth it for the views, the quiet lanes, the scenery and of course the friendly, easy going fellow riders you will meet with Lewisham Cyclists. Meet at Norwood Junction at 9.10 am for the 9.27 train. The train bit is to enable us to skip a bit of the A23 which isn't really a very nice ride. There are trains to Norwood Junction from Brockley, Honor Oak Park, Forest Hill,and Sydenham stations. However, I shall probably ride there from Honor Oak Park, so if you want to join me, contact me. We'll ride up and out of suburbia over the beautiful Farthing Down, then through Chaldon,over the M25 down to Bletchingly, then on to quiet lanes, down Tilburstow Hill and more quiet lanes. Winding our way around back into Kent, to lunch in the Blacksmiths Arms, Cudham and finally heading back north, riding all the way back to Beckenham and the Waterlink Way. Jane 07826559603
