About the route
A ride that sticks to the cycleways all the way into the city centre. This is a longer route than the one suggested by the Council but much more pleasant. It is suitable for all cycles though the cycleways are not in the best of repair and somewhat over-grown in places. The only climbs are out of the 2 underpasses and over the bridge that crosses the Oundle road.
This is about 12 miles, there and back. Those who do not wish to go this far can stop at Ferry Meadows which is less than 2 miles from the Orton Centre and spend the afternoon at Ham Lane. We will meet up on the return.
