Starting from - The starting point is by the entrance to the velodrome. As the cycling festival is taking place at the same time, the actual velodrome car park will probably be busy but there is more parking over by the swimming pool and also the festiva is using the car park at the stadium next door. So lots of options. There should be some on-road parking on the neighbouring roads. There are toilets available at the velodrome. NP19 4RB

The ride heads out of the International Sports village and then goes through a wooded traffic free section to get to Pye Corner. We then ride along a couple of roads to reach the RSPB wetlands. The next 4.5 miles is mostly traffic free. Then we return to the road for a mile before heading onto another quiet little lane alongside a reen (small stream). The last miles are then back to the roads as we head back to Nash and return to the start point.

This ride is setup to coincide with the Olympics send off for the Team GB cyclists happening at the velodrome. It is a nice flat scenic route.

The route is a mix of traffic free sections and some quieter roads and lanes. Some of the traffic free sections are not tarmac but are suitable for all bikes.

There are no planned stops but we will stop if we see anything interesting. This is a route that can have some wildlife opportunities.

Please wear a helmet and it is advisable to carry a spare tube just in case.

We especially welcome newbies!
