This route is one of the group favourites - from Old Weston we take the Roman Fayway to Titchmarsh into Thrapston. Using a short bike track in Islip (to avoid an A road) we then follow the Nene Valley through Aldwinkle, behind Wadenhoe into Oundle for a coffee stop. From there we take the pretty loop to Barnwell and back up to Old Weston.

The first of several 30 mile rides to build up our distance for summer. Exploring Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire ... the valleys of River Nene, Welland and Great Ouse. A circular route enjoying back roads and lanes through countryside, pretty villages and small towns. A few hills, mostly rolling as its not too hilly around here. I will finalise the route on the Wednesday based on the weather. I can share gpx file via whatsapp/messenger.

Back roads and some b roads, occasionally a short track but not real off road.

We stop at the top of any hills to regroup. As it is bank holiday weekend we have a reservation at the Lemon Tree in Oundle for food/drink stop at 11/11.15

Please remember your helmet, lights, drinks (bring more if it is hot), snacks, inner tubes & tools and you might like to bring a lock for when we are at a cafe

We won’t leave anyone behind but please check you can do the 11-12mph average, or folk get too cold staying as a group.
