Not The World Champs Ride to Letcombe

After 4 miles we have the Ashbury Hill, but its do-able by just taking it easy and riding in a low gear. We will re-congregate at the top end resume after a breather. Then it's downhill to Lambourne and an easier climb to Sparsholt Firs and our coffee stop in the lovely village tea room. After coffee the ride home is much easier than the ride out taking us through a few small villages, then Uffington and Longcot

Up in Scotland the World Cycling Championships are taking place. Todays its the turn of the elite women to take to the road for that coveted Rainbow Jersey. Our ride won't be anything like the ride the ladies will take on but it will be an enjoyable trip out in the vale of the White Horse to our coffee stop in Letcombe Regis

We will be on country lanes the whole time with only light traffic expected. There are a couple of narrow spots where we may have to take care sharing the space

Don’t forget a full water bottle with your favourite thirst quencher. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted-on then a spanner that fits the wheel nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or debit card for the refreshment stop. Some place’s only take card payments. Although our bikes should be safe at the coffee stop you should consider bringing a lock

We always welcome new members to our social group. This ride will apeal to anyone who is happy riding for three hours; if that's not for you why not pick one of our shorter rides
