Not The World Champs Ride to Bampton

We will Go via Longcot, Farnham and Shellingford before crossing the A417 and then to Buckland via Hatford and Gainfield. From Buckland we drop down into Buckland Marsh and them to Bampton. After Coffee its back via Faringdon (a wee rise to go up see elevation profile but it's not as bad as it looks) over the A 420 to Fernham and home

Up in Scotland the World Cycling Championships are taking place. Todays its the turn of the elite men to take to the road for that coveted Rainbow Jersey. Our ride won't be anything like the ride the guys will take but it will be an enjoyable trip out with a very nice down hill stretch just before our coffee stop in Bampton

We will be on country lanes the whole time with only light traffic expected. There are a couple of narrow spots where we may have to take care sharing the space

We have several options for our coffee stop in Bampton.

Don’t forget a full water bottle with your favourite thirst quencher. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted-on then a spanner that fits the wheel nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or debit card for the refreshment stop. Some place’s only take card payments. Although our bikes should be safe at the coffee stop you should consider bringing a lock
