Northwood Hillingdon to Herts circular

This is a circular route for those of you who want to explore bits of Hertfordshire - around Rickmansworth, Heronsgate, and Loudwater starting from Northwood in Hillingdon. We will use a mix of quiet roads, side roads, an off-road path, and a few inclines, some long and steady, some short and sharp - so we can be rewarded with great views across the countryside. The distance there and back is about 20 miles, and we'll stop for refreshments somewhere along the way. By train, take Metropolitan line to Northwood - you will have to carry your bike up the stairs I'm afraid! If you come by car there are roads nearby with some residents parking that only apply on weekdays (and there are others that also apply at all times, so please look at the signs carefully), or you can park in Northwood Station car park for £2 a day or Green Lane car park for up to 3 hours for £1 (4 hours £2) if you are a Hillingdon resident or £3 (4 hours £5.20) if you are a non-Hillingdon resident. Please remember to bring a spare inner tube, lock, oyster card, and money for refreshments if needed.
