Starting point

DA15 7AW

south side of Sidcup rail station, in Jubilee Way

Moderate pace, mostly on quiet roads and a few off road paths : several steady climbs and a long glide downhill. From Sidcup via St Mary Cray and Chelsfield to Halstead and Knockholt. Then towards Tatsfield and the crest of the North Downs, and Woldingham, followed by a tranquil glide through Marden Park. Probable stop for lunch at Coolings Garden Centre in Knockholt. Bring Oyster card or similar for return by train via London Bridge, for example from Whyteleafe South. Energetic riders may wish to find own way back on Sustrans national route 21 from Woldingham to Lewisham. A possible route is displayed here - http://goo.gl/maps/kq4Kh The start is timed to connect with ‘loop’ trains via Slade Green and Crayford. A suitable train along Woolwich line departs from Belvedere 09:50, arriving at 10:15. Alternatively, direct service from Lewisham departs at 9:54, arriving at 10:09. Please send an email to [email protected] if you are likely to come, or if you have any queries. Note for Bromley Cyclists - We’ll pass the Croft Tea Room in St Mary Cray around 11:00, if anyone wants to join us there.
