Ok the nights are closing in, no excuse to hang the bike up for weekends only, try night riding..... We will build these rides up over winter as we improve in skill and confidence. This is will be the 2nd of the Night Stalkers rides. A opportunity to try night riding! From my own experience its a totally different dynamic! And amazing fun. Meeting opposite the Elmwood farm ,S20 1DJ at 19.00 PEDALS AWAY 19.15 Expect a couple of hours riding, leisurely pace, ride as a group. Loop will be, around the local area, Aston, Wales, Todwick, Anston, Kiveton, Woodhall with road and off road riding. You will need good lights!! Commuter lights will not do the job. What do you need?: LIGHTS!!!!!! A mountain bike in good working order. Suitable clothing for the expected weather conditions. A helmet (NO HELMET NO RIDE!). Knee pads are advised. Spare inner tubes, spare parts, basic tools, pump. A bit of cash (£20???) in case your bike breaks and you need a taxi. A good supply of water, food or energy supplements. Some form of ID on your person 'in case of emergency'. This may include such things as a driving licence, piece of paper in your pocket or back pack with your name and address and contact details for next of kin etc (if you have a modern smart phone you can enable it for ICE contact). And don't forget to tell someone where you're off to ? Other health and safety information: If you're considering just doing part of this ride I would recommend you familiarise yourself with the area and/or bring a map of some kind. However, if you ask the Route Host they will help as much as possible in directing you. Please let someone know if you leave the ride/group as we don't want to waste time searching for you if nothing is wrong. If you are struggling in anyway don't suffer in silence, please let the Route Host know so they can help if possible." "Warning! This is not a training course or guided ride. It is an opportunity to meet up for a ride with others and although someone will be determining the route you are ultimately responsible for your own actions and health & safety.
