We will start the ride at Bleach Green car park. Sign posted on the main road after Ennerdale Bridge. Continue on the road passing the 1st car park in the woods, continue over the bridge, the car park is on the left. From Bleach Green car park we will cycle to the 2nd bridge about 6 miles along the lake and river, before our downhill return on the other side. You will be cycling through one of the most beautiful landmarks in the Lake District. Cycling close to the lake, rivers and crossing some beautiful waterfall. Water is always close by and you may get an opportunity to see Grebe ducks, Geese and Swans. As you cycle along the valley you will be towered by some of the well-known mountains like Pillar, Honister and Scar Crag. In the wood you have a great chance of seeing deer, stags, fawns, buzzards, a variety of small birds and hear the cuckoo. You will be cycling on a number of different surfaces like rough packed shale, loose chippings, grassy banks and stone, which are easy to judge and accomplish, ride leader will help you along if need be. There's lots of opportunity to stop and take a quick photo as we stop at gates, wooden bridge crossings etc. I’ve put this ride on for a number of weeks, but I may vary the route as we progress. We will ride at the pace of the slowest rider and we don't leave anyone behind. It's a social ride so lots of chatting. If you think you are too slow you will be surprised we have all been there walking up and down hills and stopping for rests. Please consider: Dress for the weather, a light jacket it can still be a bit chilly at night, wear a pair of gloves, bringing a drink, snack, and a spare inner tube that fits your bike. Also we recommend a good fitting helmet.
