Our route will start near the 'mucky mountains' in Sankey Valley park Newton-le-Willows. We will head out along the canal path under the nine arches and turn to head towards Haydock. We will then head toward Lyme and Wood Pitts country park via grange valley.

There is occasionally a pop up cafe Nanna Millies at Lyme Wood Pitts where we can stop for a coffee or alternatively we can head onto Newton high street for refreshments.

We then travel back parallel with Newton high street towards Mesnes park to pick up some trails. Our route then takes us on some minor residential roads on the edge of Vulcan village back to toward canal path to Alder lane. We then head back via country lane crossing the canal picking up some final trails back to the start point car park.

****please note some sections of the route can get very muddy in wet weather*****

A varied loop of Newton-le-Willows

A really varied route incorporating canal path, trails and a little road riding (mainly residential estate)

We will stop at various points dependant on what the group fancy but there is no scheduled cafe stop. We can stop for refreshments at Lyme and Wood country park where there is occasionally a pop up cafe or take a slight detour near Mesnes park in Newton for coffees from Newton high street.

Helmets are compulsory for this ride. Pease dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Please ensure your bike is in good working order and you bring a spare inner tube and pump. Please bring your own refreshments and some change should we schedule a stop at a cafe/ coffee shop for take out.

First-timers welcome!
