We head out of the car park by the velodrome and follow NCN route 4 as we head west towards Cardiff. After we cycle past the Maesglas retail park, we head under the dual carriageway and follow the cycle path as we pass Tredegar house and follow the lanes by the reens to Marshfield. Once we reach Cypress drive, we cross over and cycle traffic free to Newport road. Then we cross the road and head into the business park and our rest stop.
After a short break, we use the cycle lane to get us back to Cypress drive and then we follow the route in reverse until we reach Marshfield road. Then we will follow Broadway down to St Brides road and turn left. We cycle along here for about a mile before turning left again to ride along Hawse Lane until we meet the cycle path that we came out along. From here, it is the outbound route in reverse until we get back to the start.

A mostly out and back route exploring the paths and lanes as we head towards the eastern edge of Cardiff

This route is a mix of traffic free sections and quiet country lanes.

We will stop at Brewed at 90 Degrees, a coffee shop in the Eastern Business park, Old St Mellons

Please wear a helmet and bring along some money and a lock for our coffee stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube just in case.

We never leave anyone behind
