"Rides will follow covid-19 rules and guidelines. Which currently means no more than 6 riders in each group. Each group will have their own lead rider, and will be on a different route (or at a minimum in the opposite direction). Most rides will be about 30 miles in length, no more than 34 miles, and a few around 25 miles. All rides start an finish at Lloyd's bank in Newbury town centre. Please note that under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and are their sole responsibility."
Main roads are generally avoided, with minor roads and quiet lanes used where possible. There will be the odd hill and undulations, and longer routes generally have more climbing than shorter routes. The odd ride goes across Greenham Common, or along the new Hermitage/Hampstead Norreys cycle path, however "99%" of the time you will be on pathed roads.
Each ride has a possible café stop. A stop cannot be guaranteed due to current circumstances, so be please be prepared with a snack if you think you may need one. However, if the café is open, I am sure most will want to support it!
If possible please bring a spare inner tube (particularly if you do not have 26" or 700 size wheels). Also please bring money for the café, snack(s) and a drink.
Please be conscious of your ability before deciding to join a ride. These are rides are not really suitable for complete novices. However, if you are a solo cyclist and want to ride with others or you are getting back in cycling, but not ready (or don't want) to join the latex speed squad - then we are for you.
