We usually send our the route GPX a few days before via our Spond group.

Our rides are for people wanting a balance between a chance to be sociable whilst covering the miles in a reasonable time. Rides are about 30 miles long and we ride at about 10-12 mph. Every ride has a café/tea stop, usually about half way round the route. Rides run from March through to October, inclusive, and are on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. We set off promptly at 09:30, so please arrive a few minutes early (particularly if you have not ridden with us before). Depending on the number of available ride leaders and the number of riders we may split up into several groups and take different routes. This also helps that we will all fit in some of the smaller cafés. Rides are graded green, blue, red or black. The first few rides of the year are easier (so greens and blues), then they become a little more challenging over the year (peaking at a few blacks). We have also setup Spond which is popular with cyclists to coordinate and chat – the link will be publicised to those joining our group on letsride or those joining a ride.

Most routes are fully tarmacked, however we do make use of dedicated cycle routes and a few routes include short off-road sections (e.g. crossing Greenham common).

We usually stop at a cafe, so please bring a card and money if you would like to buy some refreshments.

Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather, or predicted weather, water, and snacks to keep your energy up (just in case the café stop is clsoed at short notice). If possible please bring a spare inner tube (particularly if you do not have 26" or 700 size wheels) and note that under 18s must be accompanied by an adult (and are their sole responsibility).

We welcome any cyclist - whether using an electric or only human powered bicycle. We even have people who ride on tandems and recumbents. But, if you have not ridden with us before (or only have access to a mountain bike with off road tyres), please arrive early and/or contact us before the ride to make sure these rides are a good fit for you.
