Musselburgh to Prestonpans

We will follow the shared path along the River Esk to its estuary famous for its population of seabirds.
From here we will follow the coastal route behind the Racecourse and past Morrisons Haven where we may see the seals basking on the rocks.
We will then, on reaching the outskirts of Prestonpans, return to visit the Company Bakery Cafe in Musselburgh for refreshments at the end of our ride. Approximately 6 miles in total.

This route uses shared paths that have a hard packed or tar surface. There is also a short section of road work on a quiet road. It is suitable for all bikes.

This route is gentle paced with the opportunity to stop to take photos or breaks as and when required on the day by the Ride Leader.

Helmets must be worn, lights and bright clothing are advised, be bright and be seen! Please wear clothes appropriate for the weather, bring a drink, spare inner tube and pump if you have one and a means to get home if required.

We will stop for coffee /tea so please bring a form of payment or bring your own refreshments and a lock for your bike. . We never leave anyone behind!
