Mount Batten Ferry Landing

The ride begins with the water taxi from Mount Batten to The Barbican, taking in the stunning views along Plymouth Hoe, and then back along Notte Street. The route then proceeds to skirt the northern edge of Sutton Harbour before proceeding along Sutton Road to link up with the South West Coast Path. The route then crosses the River Plym via Laira Bridge, availing of the cycle path all the way to Radford/ Hooe Lakes. After crossing the dam, the route continues along a tree-lined dirt path until it emerges in the Hooe area of the city. From here, the route enters its final, hilly stages through Turnchapel, and on to the finish at Mount Batten. Please be aware that there is a small charge to use the ferry at the start of the ride and details can be found at the Mount Batten Ferry website, http://www.mountbattenferry.com/. If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
