Starting point

TF10 9DS

Moreton Millennium Hall, Church Lane, Moreton TF10 9DS

Route will take us from Moreton to the historic village of Church Eaton. (3.5 miles) There is a slight gradient as you leave the village for awhile, but once it levels out it is pretty level all the way to Church Eaton. You will notice some attractive 15th and 18th century buildings, and the unusually named church, St. Edithas is Saxon foundation built in 12th century. The Royal Oak is at the heart of the village and serves a great weekend brunch apparently. (10.30-12.00, £5.50, for future information). Past the church turn left on to Haughton (6 miles) and to the cafe at Red Lion Farm, http://www.redlionfarm.co.uk/ http://www.redlionfarm.co.uk/ for tea and cakes or one of their delicious royal jersey ice creams. Good job we will be cycling it all off. (Cafe closed at the end of October until next season) Through Haughton and right down Station Road to join the NCN 55 (just under a mile) Haughton of course very famous for its Christmas Lights, which get bigger every year. Haugton and Gnosall were both on the Stafford and Shrewsbury section of the former London and North Western Railway, whose backbone is used by the National Cycle Network route 55 (NCN 55) We cycle along this handy route for 4.5 miles, until we join the junction at Wilbrighton Lane from which we cycle the mile and a half back to Moreton. This is a quiet lane but be aware that there are occasionally some serious potholes along the side of it. Single file only and beware of oncoming traffic. Back to the Milenium Hall, which with luck will still be open and provide a loo stop.
