Starting point

DH7 8DL

Brancepeth Station Car Park at Brancepeth on the Brandon to Bishop Auckland Railway Path.

The route is along the Brandon to Bishop Auckland Railway Path there and back. Despite being linear the railway path is attractive, varied and relatively flat for a route near Durham City. There is a short section through Bishop Auckland Town Centre but this is surprisingly quiet. We will be stopping at The Bishop's Palace Library Tea Room. This is one of the Durham Breeze favourites - slightly more expensive but well worth a visit. The route has a good surface so any bike although off-road tyres are recommended. Please ensure your bike is safe to ride and functioning and bring a spare inner-tube if possible. Under 16's are required to wear a helmet. STARTING POINT Brancepeth Station Car Park at Brancepeth on the Brandon to Bishop Auckland Railway Path. On the A690 Crook to Durham Road. Turn off the A690 at old Brancepeth onto Wolsingham Road. The car park is as you leave the village on the left after 350 m. The post code is for Station Cottages on the right AFTER the car park just before on the left.
