Moorgreen 'Women in Love'

Moorgreen Women in Love (name of a D.H.Lawrence novel) takes in a quiet green lanes and forestry tracks) and offers some fantastic views down to Felly Priory, Beauvale Priory, all in the heart of D.H.Lawrence Country. The ride begins at Greasley Sports Centre, and will proceed along Moorgreen towards the Horse and Groom Pub. We will then follow the B600 a short way and join a quiet track (Mountain Bikeable) along Moorgreen Res, through the forestry and on to New Lane, where we may spot Buzzards on a fine day, then on towards the Gatehouse Tea Rooms at Beauvale Priory Farm (3.5miles) for tea and cakes! After replenishment we will head off down Beauvale Valley back towards Moorgreen and Greasley Sports Centre (8 miles). There will be some D.H.Lawrence info into the back ground stories behind the book (women in love) along the way! Mountain Bikes are essential for this ride as some of the tracks are stoney.
