Join us for a ride through the quiet lanes, gravel tracks and bridlepaths of the Chilterns. We will cycle on a mixture of tarmac lanes (with obligatory potholes) gravel lanes and possible muddle bridle paths. This ride would be suitable for mountain bikes, gravel bikes or hybrids with bobbly tyres. But not road bikes or smooth tyres.
It looks like there won't be too much rain this week so hopefully the route will be dryish. But do come prepared for a bit of mud - it adds to the fun! I will keep an eye on the forecast and if it looks like it will be too wet and I need to cancel I will send a message through this website.
We can stop at the Cafe au Lee close to the end of the ride for a coffee and cake.
Checklist of things to bring:
Helmet - You can't join my rides without one
Mudguards - are a good idea for group rides depending on the weather
Front and rear lights - not essential but a good idea if it is a dull day
2 inner tubes, tyre levers and a pump in case you have a puncture
Rainwear/gilet - weather dependent (worn or in your pocket/bike bag)
Water bottle
Bike lock for the coffee stop
Please check your bike is in good working order and your tyres are pumped up before the ride. Check out this useful video about what to look for when checking your bike:
