Shortest night of the year celebration on bicycles. Slow/easy ride.
Two main rules:
1. Keep safe.
2. Keep happy and allow another participants to be happy.
To achieve above:
1) Safety: hi-viz clothing (e.g. visible yellow vests), strong front light (I usually carry spare ones).
Don't worry of having too much equipment - it is not a race, but a friendly ride and better having too much, than not enough.
Covid-19: distance 2m minimum from other participants on stops and onn the road. Avoid overtaking. If there will be more than 6 of us we'll need to split for separate groups (e.g. 7 cyclists=3+4). Face masks/googles welcome.
2)Happiness: respect others no matter gender, age, etc.
We lucky with the weather this year, however better take gloves and warm jacket.
June Solstice in Universal Coordinated Time is on Saturday, 20 June 2020, 21:43 UTC.
No route established. Distance 10-40 miles, depending of riders (we level speed down to the slowest rider and do as many stops/picnics as wanted). Although we cycle the whole dark night (5hrs), U can join for even 15min - if don't want to cycle too long.
Any roads.
As many stops as necessary.
Safety: hi-viz clothing (e.g. visible yellow vests), strong front light (I usually carry spare ones).
First-timers welcome!
